What We Do
Our mission is to empower individuals on their path to recovery by providing compassionate peer support, evidence-based education, and community-driven resources.
Through our "Courage to Change" curriculum and the Whole Person approach, we help participants rebuild their lives with dignity, resilience, and lasting wellness. Together, we are restoring lives, strengthening families, and creating a healthier Stanly County.

History
Stanly Peer & Recovery (SPARE) was founded in 2023 to address the lack of recovery support for individuals in the Stanly County Detention Center, many of whom faced forced withdrawal without adequate resources.
Peer support specialists from various agencies formed a workgroup to bring recovery services into the facility.
